Form of Nomination
It is advisable that a form of nomination be completed on all active accounts.
A Nomination form only comes into force on death and is completely separate from any will or codicil to a will that a member may have in place.
The nomination covers the first €27,000 (or such other sums that may be prescribed under the Credit Union Act 1997) in an account and is payable to the person or persons named on the nomination form.
Any balance remaining in the account thereafter will form part of the deceased members’ estate.
Nominations can be changed at any time and like a will the most recent nomination invalidates any previously completed nominations. For more information please call into your local branch.
